Mrs. Lois

Principal/Owner

Mrs. Lois founded Joyous Town in 2015 to enrich her community's young learners. With over a decade of experience and a State ECE certificate, she passionately fosters children's growth and success. Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay, she brings a multicultural perspective to her teaching. Beyond education, Mrs. Lois enjoys experimenting with new recipes, cherishing moments with loved ones, and exploring the wonders of nature.

Ms. Ghislaine

Program Supervisor

Ms. Ghislaine is a graduate of the University of Washington, holding bachelor's degrees in both Computer Science and Early Childhood & Family Studies. With extensive experience in babysitting and licensed childcare facilities, she is dedicated to nurturing young minds. Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Ghislaine delights in exploring new restaurants and traveling the world.

Mrs. Joyce

Pre-K Co-Lead Teacher

Mrs. Joyce moved to the States from Malaysia. She has worked with children for the past 30 years. She received her MIA (Montessori Institute of America) diploma in Kent, Washington. She balances learning through play, free choice, and academic work. Her goal is to build a solid foundation for all the children in her care.

Mrs. Yukino 

Pre-K Co-Lead Teacher

Originally from Japan, Mrs. Yukino has committed over a decade to working with elementary students. Her passion for nurturing young minds remains strong since moving to the United States. In addition to teaching art, she diligently contributes to an afternoon school program. Known for her hard work and unwavering dedication, Mrs. Yukino brings a deep sense of compassion to her role.

Ms. Kaitlynn

Pre-K Assistant Teacher

Kaite, born in Tennessee, has lived in six states by the age of 18. She has always worked with kids, starting with babysitting at 12, teaching swim lessons for five years, and coaching elementary swim teams. Kaite holds an Associate’s degree in Integrated Studies and plans to pursue a degree in elementary education to teach 3rd grade in low-income, inner-city schools.

She loves reading and aims to own 1,000 books, currently having nearly 400. In her free time, Kaite enjoys hiking, camping in the summer, and cooking for friends and family while trying out new recipes.

Mrs. Wenjie

Preschool Prep Lead Teacher

Mrs. Wenjie came from China. She graduated from University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Interior Architecture and a minor in Early Childhood Sciences. In her free time, she likes to play board games and spending time with her family.

Ms. Carly

Preschool Prep Assistant Teacher

Ms. Carly has been in early childhood education for six years and cherishes every moment! With experience in both play-based and Montessori settings, she aspires to make a positive impact on children’s learning, just as it has positively influenced her. She looks forward to furthering her education and gaining new experiences along the way. In her free time, she enjoys reading, taking walks, and watching movies.

Mrs. Meriyem

Substitute Teacher

Originally from Morocco, Mrs. Meriyem moved to the United States eight years ago. She is a proud mother of two and brings a wealth of experience from her work in both home and child care settings over the past year. This background has equipped her with a strong understanding of the needs and environment for children of all ages. In her free time, Mrs. Meriyem enjoys exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her family.

Mrs. Mae

Toddler Lead Teacher

Mrs. Mae was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States in 2019. She started teaching the little ones in 2020 and found it to be her calling. She enjoys cooking and catching up with her family. She also likes to play with her two puppies during her free time!

Ms. Churee

Toddler Assistant Teacher

Originally from Thailand and a graduate of Bible college, Mrs. Churee is known for her nurturing presence that children are drawn to. She is committed to lifelong learning and personal development, constantly seeking ways to enhance her skills. During her free time, she loves taking her son to a nearby park and spending quality time with her friends.

Ms. Kim

PM Support Staff

Ms. Kim is currently a high school senior but will soon pursue a degree in K-8 education! She has always enjoyed working with kids and hope to make a positive impact on their early development! She loves doing crafts such as crocheting, scrapbooking, and journaling, and she loves to drink boba and go rock climbing with friends! When not crafting or climbing, She likes to do her own nails and watch shows on Netflix.

Mrs. Roya

Infant Teacher

Mrs. Roya is a mother of six. She moved to the United States from Afghanistan in 2015. She has experience working with all ages from infants through PreK. She is currently working towards her Early Childhood Initial certificate. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Sahily

Infant Assistant Teacher

Mrs. Sahily, who comes to us from Nicaragua and is a dedicated mother of two. With experience in an infant classroom, she has discovered her passion for nurturing and supporting young children, finding the environment rewarding. We look forward to the positive impact she will bring to our classroom!

Ms. Semayat

AM/PM Support Staff

As a second-year college student, Ms. Semayat is eager to pursue a career in dental hygiene. For the past five years, she has been working with children, primarily through volunteer work at her church. She also gained experience working at a child care center in Lynnwood. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach with family and friends, as well as reading the Bible.

Ms. Rachel is a passionate Mandarin and Art teacher with a passion for nurturing young children. She is enthusiastic about fostering creativity and cultural understanding among her students, aiming to inspire their curiosity and imagination.

Mrs. HaiZhen (Nainai)

Kitchen Helper/ Floater

Mrs. Haizhen, as everyone calls her "Nainai" which means grandma in Mandarin. She is retired and enjoy helping at centers in her free time. She has previously volunteered at a preschool in Bellevue as a chef. The children love her and you will see them greet Nainai with smiles and hugs each morning!
